Adapt vs Adopt: Change Something or Take It Up?

Adapt changes; adopt takes up. The spelling difference is small, but the argument structure and meaning are distinct.

The course was adapted for younger learners. Something existing was modified. The school adopted a new assessment policy. The policy was selected and put into use.

Common frames
