Here are answers to some of the questions learners, parents, and tutors most often ask about HiLernity.

What is HiLernity?

HiLernity is an online tutoring platform that connects learners with reviewed tutors for personalised learning. Learners can explore tutor profiles, compare teaching backgrounds and specialities, and manage their learning through a HiLernity account.

How do I find the right tutor?

Visit the Find a Tutor page and browse available profiles. Each profile is designed to help you understand a tutor’s experience, teaching focus, qualifications, languages, and lesson information before you decide who may be the right fit.

Do I need an account to browse tutors?

No. Public tutor profiles can be viewed without an account. You will need a HiLernity account when you want to use private account features or make a booking where booking is available.

Are tutors reviewed before appearing on HiLernity?

Yes. Tutors complete an application and provide professional information about their teaching background, education, specialities, and relevant qualifications. Their application is reviewed before a public tutor profile is approved.

Are tutor certificates and documents visible to everyone?

No. Supporting documents uploaded during the tutor review process are private and intended for authorised HiLernity reviewers. A public tutor profile may display relevant qualification information, but the original private document files are not made publicly available.

Can I choose my lesson time?

Tutors manage their availability through HiLernity. Where booking is available, learners can choose from the lesson times offered by the tutor.

How long is a lesson?

Lesson duration can vary by tutor and lesson type. The available duration and other booking details are shown before a booking is confirmed.

Where do online lessons take place?

Lessons may be delivered through established online meeting services such as Google Meet or Zoom, depending on the tutor and the lesson arrangement.

Can I contact a tutor through their personal phone number or messaging account?

HiLernity is designed to protect the privacy of learners and tutors. Personal phone numbers, private email addresses, WhatsApp numbers, Telegram accounts, and similar contact details are not intended to be published on public tutor profiles. Platform communication features may be introduced as the service develops.

Can parents create accounts for their children?

HiLernity supports parent and learner account structures. Parents may manage learning arrangements for a child where the relevant platform features are available. Additional safeguards may apply when services involve younger learners.

What happens if I need to cancel a lesson?

Cancellation and refund conditions are governed by the policy that applies to the booking. Before making a paid booking, please review the cancellation and refund terms shown on HiLernity.

How do payments work?

Where paid checkout is available, payment processing may be handled by an approved payment provider. The amount, payment status, and any applicable booking information will be shown during the relevant transaction process.

Can anyone become a tutor?

Anyone who meets the application requirements may apply, but submitting an application does not guarantee approval. HiLernity reviews tutor applications before a profile becomes publicly available.

Why is my tutor application still pending?

A pending application means the HiLernity team has not completed the final review. You may be asked to complete additional profile information, update part of your application, or provide supporting documentation before approval.

Can I update my tutor information while my application is pending?

Yes. Tutor applicants can use their dashboard to complete or update relevant professional information before the final review.

Is my phone number public?

No. A phone number provided in the Account & Contact section is treated as private account information and is not intended to appear on a public tutor or learner profile.

I did not receive an account verification email. What should I do?

Check your spam or junk folder first. You can also use the resend verification option on the sign-in page where available. If the message still does not arrive, contact support@hilernity.com.

How can I contact HiLernity?
