The More…, The More…: Correlative Comparatives and Linked Change

The more…, the more… does not compare two objects; it links two changing variables. As one quantity or degree changes, the other changes with it.

The more carefully you read, the easier the argument becomes to follow. You are not limited to more: The longer we wait, the less certain the estimate becomes. The fewer interruptions people have, the more efficiently they work.
