C1 Speaking: Give Nuanced Answers Without Sounding Vague or Over-Rehearsed
A C1 answer is not “longer B2.” It shows that the speaker can make a claim, limit it, distinguish cases, and respond to complexity in real time.
Take the question Is working from home better? A flat answer chooses yes or no. A nuanced answer defines the conditions: better for whom, for which tasks, and by what measure?
Use a claim–qualification–example sequence

The language is not impressive because it contains “advanced phrases.” It is effective because each phrase performs a reasoning function.
Distinguish uncertainty from indecision
It depends is weak if it ends the answer. It becomes useful when followed by the relevant variables. This is spoken hedging applied to everyday reasoning.
Respond, do not recite
Use advanced discussion skills for interaction and C1 pragmatics for indirect meaning. Practise with unpredictable follow-up questions so the answer cannot be memorised.
