Few vs A Few, Little vs A Little: Quantity and Speaker Attitude

The article a changes more than quantity here; it changes the speaker’s evaluation. A few and a little usually mean “some, and enough to matter.” Few and little often mean “not many/much, perhaps fewer than needed.”
